During the depression, his step father Joseph Beaulieu bought a farm in Milan, NH and the family moved to Milan in June of 1931.  During the hurricane of 1938 the barn collapsed off the foundation and killed 11 cows.  The farm was situated where the Berlin Airport is now.  The city of Berlin then purchased the farm in 1941 for the Airport.  The family moved back to Berlin in 1941.

He worked in various departments, the Woodroom, the Sulphite Digester House and then the #8 Boiler in the Kraft Mill.  In 1957 he was asked to transfer to MGO Boiler as the operator.  After that he became the Foreman of the Sulphite Mill.  Following the closure to the Sulphite Mill, he then went to work on the Paper Machines in Cascade.  When they started Point Nine, he transferred as Assistant Operator and then promoted to Foreman and remained until his retirement on disability in 1974.

He was an avid golfer, and spent a lot of time golfing.  He also enjoyed woodworking in the winter months, making tables, bookcases, shadow boxes, tea carts, corner shelves, and end tables for all his nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by three brothers, Eddy, George and Aime Dion; two half-brothers Albert and Leo Beaulieu and two sisters, Alice Houle and Lena Jacques; and a nephew George Dion.
